The Foundation stone was laid in 1838. St Peters Anglican Church Cooks River was completed in November 1839 and is one of the oldest churches in Sydney. It is listed with the Heritage Council of NSW and includes a historic Victorian Graveyard.
The Cooks River, a semi-mature tide dominated drowned valley estuary, is a tributary of Botany Bay, located in south-eastern Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The course of the 23 kilometres long urban waterway has been altered to accommodate various developments along its shore.
