Trangott's father was August Heinrich Trangott Beier and his mother was Johanna Carolina Wittig.  His paternal grandparents are George Beier and Rosina Freudenberg; his maternal grandparents are Ernst Wittig and Elisabeth Kohler. He had three brothers and ten sisters, named August, Wilhelm, Heinrich, Louisa, Ernestine, Paolina, Carolina, Emilia, Maria, Elisabeth, <Unknown>, <Unknown> and <Unknown>.  He died at the age of 83 on September 12th, 1951.  He was cremated in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.^1 1
