Mary was born in 1876 in Westerham, Kent, England.¹

Mary's father was John Francis and her mother was Mary Ann Francis. She had three brothers and two sisters, named George, William, Ernest, Caroline and Sarah.  She was the second youngest of the six children.  She died at the age of 56 on May 11th, 1932.
