• Karen lived in Søvind, Denmark until  June 30th, 1873.²

    From Danish shipping records she is from the villiage of Souvind, just north of Horsens..."
    
    However conflicting dates of departure in 14 page manuscript..?
    "On this voyage the Humbolt left the port of Hamburg on 30th June under Captain Busch."
    Surgeon Superintendent states - "..we left Hamburg on the 3 July 1873.."
  She stayed on the "Humbolt" for four months and one day from July 3rd, 1873 to November 4th, 1873.²

    From Surgeon Superintendent of the Humbolt "..we left Hamburg on the 3rd of July 1873.. "
    Maryborough Chronicle Thursday 30 October 1873; "vessels in harbour, Humbolt, ship..., Captain Busch, from Hamburg, sailed 30 June, Graham & Co. agents.."
    Immigration Health Officer states - "..scurvy on board, will not allow them to land for at least a week..." (ie ~Nov 6)
    From Surgeon Superintendent of the Humbolt "When the ship had dropped anchor in Hervey's Bay, the health officer ordered her undergo a 6 days quarantine..." His report then goes on to say "..all passengers were landed here yesterday morning, the 'Kembler' having gone out on Tuesday noon to fetch them." [That would be Tuesday the 4th Nov, 6 days after first arrival]
    
  She lived in Maryborough, Queensland, Australia from November 4th, 1873.²
