George was born about 1849 in Tendring, Essex, England.1   George's father was James Simons and his mother was Amelia Thompson.  His paternal grandparents are Thomas Simmons and <Unknown>; his maternal grandparents are John Thompson and Anne. He had five brothers and five sisters, named Charles, John, Arthur, Robert, Morris, Ann, Amelia, Charlotte, Charlotte and Jane.  He was the sixth oldest of the eleven children.  He died in March 1852 in Tendring, Essex, England.  He was buried on March 31st, 1852 in Little Bentley, Tendring District, Essex, England.2 2
