Henry was born in September 1812 and his baptism took place on December 6th, 1812 in Castle Camps, Cambridgeshire, England.1  Henry's father was John Barker and his mother was Ann Mizen.  His paternal grandparents were John Barker and Martha Stock; his maternal grandparents were John Mizen and Ann Theake. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Philip, Cornelius, Robert, Amos, Martha, Harriet and Emma.  He was the oldest of the eight children.
