Mary was born on January 16th, 1712 and her christening took place on January 16th, 1712 in Castle Camps, Cambridgeshire, England.1  Mary's father was James Barker and her mother was Margaret Newton.  Her paternal grandparents were Robert Barker and Mary Baker; her maternal grandparents were Thomas Newton and Margaret Patch. She had four brothers and three sisters, named James, John, Thomas, Thomas, Hannah, Ann and Anne.  She was the oldest of the eight children.
