Carol was born on January 15th, 1932. Carol's father was Hermann (Sydney Herbert) Julius Kapper and her mother was Caroline Louisa Francis Thomas. Her paternal grandparents were George Michel Kapper and Emma Lorette Kassulke; her maternal grandparents were Joseph Terret Thomas and Mary Ann Francis. She had five brothers and two sisters, named Neil, Donald, Mark, Mike, Stuart, Gloria and Moya. She was the third oldest of the eight children.
