Maurice's father was George Michel Kapper and his mother was Emma Lorette Kassulke. His paternal grandparents were Franz Christopher Kapper and Ellen Hayman; his maternal grandparents were Carl August Kassulke and Emilie Mundt. He had six brothers and six sisters, named George, Charles, Herbert, Sydney Herbert, William, Ernest, Minnie, Augusta, Emma, Violet, Elsie and Bertha. He died at the age of 64 on December 18th, 1959.
