Dorothy was born on August 1st, 1930. Dorothy's father was Charles Edward Kapper and her mother was Olive Emmitt. Her paternal grandparents were George Michel Kapper and Emma Lorette Kassulke. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Edward, Bernard, Oswald, Olive, Florence and Mavis. She is the youngest of the seven children.
