Wilhelm, known as Willie, was born on August 11th, 1883 and his christening took place on October 10th, 1883.1   His godmother was Dorothea Beier + Maria Zoller. Willie's father was Karl Friedrich Staier and his mother was Ernestine Beier.  His paternal grandparents were Konrad Johann Staier and Dorothea Christina Schwarz; his maternal grandparents were August Heinrich Trangott Beier and Johanna Carolina Wittig. He had six brothers and five sisters, named Carl, Friedrich, August, Friedrich, Edward, Franz, Amelia, Bertha, Margaretha, Regina and Anna.  He was the sixth oldest of the twelve children. He had a half-brother named George.  He died at the age of 84 on March 28th, 1968.2
