John was born in 1762 and his baptism took place on April 4th, 1762 in Castle Camps, Cambridgeshire, England.1  John's father was James Barker and his mother was Mary Claydon.  His paternal grandparents were James Barker and Mary Bradford; his maternal grandparents were Joshua Claydon and Elizabeth Ling. He had seven sisters named Amy, Ann, Elizabeth, Margaret, Mary, Rachel and Ruth.  He was the oldest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 75 on April 22nd, 1837 in Camps Green, Parish of Castle Camps, Cambridgeshire, England.1
