Margaret was born in 1770 and her baptism took place on February 4th, 1770 in Castle Camps, Cambridgeshire, England.1  Margaret's father was James Barker and her mother was Mary Claydon.  Her maternal grandparents were Joshua Claydon and Elizabeth Ling. She had a brother and seven sisters, named John, Sarah, Amy, Ann, Elizabeth, Mary, Rachel and Ruth.  She was the fourth youngest of the nine children.
