Arthur was born on March 29th, 1888 in Mottingham, London, England.1  Arthur's father was John (Charlie) Jeal and his mother was Charlotte Simons.  His paternal grandparents were James Jeal and Eliza Goodman; his maternal grandparents were James Simons and Amelia Fitch. He had three brothers and seven sisters, named William, Roll, Jack, Eliza, Dod, Maud, Frances, Dolly, Loll and Tetsy.  He was the fourth youngest of the eleven children.  He died at the age of 69 on February 26th, 1958.
