John, known as Jack, was born on September 13th, 1893 in Mottingham, London, England.1  Jack's father was John (Charlie) Jeal and his mother was Charlotte Simons.  His paternal grandparents were James Jeal and Eliza Goodman; his maternal grandparents were James Simons and Amelia Fitch. He had three brothers and seven sisters, named William, Roll, Arthur, Eliza, Dod, Maud, Frances, Dolly, Loll and Tetsy.  He was the youngest of the eleven children.  He died due to natural causes or old age at the age of 72 on March 6th, 1966.
