Mavis was born on September 7th, 1920. Mavis' father was Charles Edward Kapper and her mother was Olive Emmitt. Her paternal grandparents were George Michel Kapper and Emma Lorette Kassulke. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Edward, Bernard, Oswald, Olive, Florence and Dorothy. She is the fourth oldest of the seven children.
