Jane was born about 1858 in Tendring, Essex, England.1   Jane's father was James Simons and her mother was Amelia Fitch. She had six brothers and three sisters, named Charles, John, George, Arthur, Robert, Morris, Ann, Amelia and Charlotte.  She was the third youngest of the ten children.  She died about 1884 in Tendring District, Essex, England.2
