Henry was born in 1845 in Helions Bumpstead, Essex, England and his baptism took place on June 8th, 1845 in Castle Camps, Cambridgeshire, England conducted by George Pearson - Rector.1  Henry's father was Cornelius Barker and his mother was Mary Baily.  His paternal grandparents were John Barker and Ann Mizen. He had six brothers and a sister, named Robert, Charles, John, James, Walter, Alfred and Ellen.  He was the third oldest of the eight children.
