Robert was born in 1839 and his baptism took place on February 24th, 1839 in Camps Green, Parish of Castle Camps, Cambridgeshire, England conducted by Reverend Richard Hollings.1 2  Robert's father was Cornelius Barker and his mother was Mary Baily.  His paternal grandparents were John Barker and Ann Mizen. He had seven brothers and a sister, named Charles, Robert, Henry, John, James, Walter, Alfred and Ellen.  He was the oldest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 3 in June 1842.  He was buried on June 7th, 1842 in Helions Bumpstead, Essex, England.2
