Edward was born on March 11th, 1840 in Plumstead, London, England and his christening took place there on March 16th, 1840.¹²

Birth Notes

Edward's father was James Jeal and his mother was Eliza Goodman. His paternal grandparents were Mr William Jeal and Mary Smith; his maternal grandparents were James Goodman and Mary Langthorn. He had seven brothers and three sisters, named Samuel, William, James, Henry, George, Rowland, Charlie, Mary, Elizabeth and Eliza. He was the fifth oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 81 on June 30th, 1921.
