Friedrich was born on January 20th, 1889 in Mungar, Queensland, Australia and his baptism took place on February 16th, 1889.1 2   His godfather was Jakob Fuchs and his godmother was Mrs Zoller + Mrs Fuchs. Friedrich's father was Karl Friedrich Staier and his mother was Ernestine Beier.  His paternal grandparents were Konrad Johann Staier and Dorothea Christina Schwarz; his maternal grandparents were August Heinrich Trangott Beier and Johanna Carolina Wittig. He had six brothers and five sisters, named Carl, Friedrich, August, Willie, Edward, Franz, Amelia, Bertha, Margaretha, Regina and Anna.  He was the fourth youngest of the twelve children. He had a half-brother named George.  He died at the age of 88 on July 30th, 1977 in Bundaberg, Queensland, Australia.1
